Expert Training Programs
John Townsend and Michael Colaner are highly experienced Transportation Safety Consultants specializing in advisory services, operational audits, and professional training for some of North America’s largest motor carriers. Our mission is to provide industry-leading instruction and guidance that strengthens safety performance, ensures regulatory compliance, and improves operational efficiency across all levels of transportation operations.
We deliver comprehensive training programs tailored to supervisors, commercial drivers, fleet mechanics, certified inspectors, and design engineers, addressing all critical areas of the transportation and hazardous materials industries. Each program is designed to equip personnel with the practical knowledge, regulatory understanding, and technical skills necessary to perform their duties with confidence and professionalism.
Collectively, we offer more than 55 years of law enforcement experience, including 45 years dedicated exclusively to commercial vehicle safety and hazardous materials enforcement with the New Jersey State Police. As retired New Jersey State Troopers assigned to the Transportation Safety Bureau, we served in every major operational capacity of commercial transportation enforcement, including commercial vehicle inspections, hazardous materials inspections, compliance reviews, carrier enforcement initiatives, and specialized training programs.
In addition to our field experience, we represented New Jersey as committee members of the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance and Cooperative Hazardous Materials Enforcement Development, contributing to the advancement of national commercial vehicle and hazardous materials safety standards. We also supervised both the Hazardous Material Transportation Enforcement Unit and the Mobile Safe Freight Training Unit, providing leadership in enforcement strategy, regulatory interpretation, and statewide training development.
